Why do so many people hate Christmas??

For me as a Sikh Christmas is not a religious holiday but we acknowledge it is the birth of Lord Jesus Christ and think that the story of the nativity is lovely!

So obviously we celebrate in a  commercial way, tree, presents, food, drink and most importantly family. So I can NOT understand why people are like I hate Christmas!??? How??

The most important point for me is spending time with all those that you love and enjoying each other company, so why moan about it? It comes around once a year and wasn’t it the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ that brought so many different people together, inn keepers, carpenters, wise men and shepards!

Be happy, go to church, pray, eat, drink, party, what ever it is that you do be happy and enjoy your loved ones and the snow!

Spent Monday with my mum and sister getting last min presents for the fam which will slowly be descending upon us in the next few days.

But have had some time to play more with colour stripping take a look. I wanted to do more of these since my last successful strip which inspired me to crochet.

If you guys were wondering about my interview from last week… Im afraid I did not get the job never mind onto bigger and brighter things. If anyone knows of any work experience opportunities within textiles and design please do get in contact : )
And on a brighter cheeky last note seeing as this has just come on whilst I am writting this post isn’t Rosie Huntington looking smoking hot and sultry in the Burberry Body Perfume advert! Great way to sell perfume, who says sex doesn’t sell??

How did the interview go?? Well! As it is something I have not done before I was honest about it, but won it back with all my strengths and strong answers to ‘real life situation’ questions.

KEY NOTE: Never get to an interview and say you are nervous, it shows weakness!

What have I been up to since my last post, having a few cheeky ones with friends in a small celebration of graduation, working and putting up my Christmas tree 🙂 fun times. Feeling very Christmassy and the tree is decked out red and gold traditional I know, but last year we did a funky infusion of ice blue and silver!

P.s I said in my previous post id upload my images but did not because I crochet a little pice in space dyed yarn let me know what you think.

Drawing figure, using a 2, 4, and 6B pencil, timed drawing of 8 mins, couldn’t do her other arm and ran out of time, oh well…

I love black and white, but my true talent lies within colour. So I looked at tacky Christmas tree lights to try to organise the colours to be able to produce a lovely stripped bit of colour. I think the colours next to one another work, they are not brash or tacky as they appeared on the tree lights themselves. I then happened to be shopping ad came across this wonderful space dyed yarn, which matched my colour strip perfectly!

Using my colours I started playing with resist effects of paint in oil pastel! I also used really watery and thick water colours which add depth to the baubles.

Hello, news and hot goss

1 Graduation yesterday 🙂 a very proud feeling and a sense of achievement washed over me as I shook hands with the college dean and took my scroll. I will remember it my whole life!

2 Been away visiting family before the terrible weather sets in.

3 First snow fell on Sunday as I was opening the door to the chinese delivery man. I actually screamed at my friend “OH MY GOD its snowing” hehehe.

Lots of loves dolls x

Hey guys and girls

So aside from the project which is obviously NOT happening, ive decided I am going to work through a  drawing book on figures. In all honesty I am not the best figure drawer, in fact as you will probably notice throughout my work I draw abstractly because I look at texture moreover obvious details.

So perfecting the drape of fabric and creating different textures in a range of medias is what I aim to do. I am starting with taking self drawn images back to their most raw form, e.g pencil and paper, ink and scribe, black fiber tip pen smudged with water.

Check out what ive been up to so far 🙂

Page one Texture 101 – playing with pencil, how you can create shadow effects using different line thickness and good quality pencils.

Page two Fabric 102 – I was trying to show a large body of fabric (in the form of a ball gown) I used a black fibre tip pen, and a thin paintbrush with water on to create form, drape, shape and light on the fabric. Also here you can see how the amount of pressure applied to the pen effects the thin quality and still proved a texture in itself.

Page three Texture in fibre pen 103 – As the pen drawn dress plus water smudging worked out really well, I thought I would demonstrate how effective this technique is. I love the round circles at the bottom, I swear to you I only used a black fibre tip pen and water. The different coloirs you can see in the black from this page and pge two, come about because there are two types of black. And in the two pages I used Two different black fibre tip pens.
