Sunday

Hi just to bullet point in a nut shell my crazy busy life

  • School
  • Lesson planning
  • Trips to the glen
  • Trips to the angel of the north
  • Playing in the snow
  • Entertaining
  • Eating (as always)
  • Gym
  • Applying for jobs
  • And as I write this post watching the snow fall from the dark sky.

As Christmas seem like a far distant snug memory, every time the snow falls I am tricked into thinking it has come around again! School is amazingly fantastic and I am very happy at my new placement school. My classes are lovely and the staff are great! I am teaching textiles, food, resistant materials and G.C.S.E textiles. Everyday is fun and sometime a bit nervy but it is all in the preparation. Although when I made bread rolls on Friday with my year 8’s mine turned out horrible (in all fairness to me i was tending to my class).

So as this snow keeps falling here I am thinking about warm sand in between my toes, water tickling at my ankles and the sun beaming down on my face. Can not wait for summer!!

Imagen being here… : )

Sunday

Hi guys

I haven’t been lazy and not blogging to you, I have just been abit crazy busy family, work, designing.

I am working on a design for the tiger print competition which I would love to show you but really cant, not that I am saying any of you lovelies would steal any ideas but it is top secret for now hehehe : D

How many of you checked out pin intrest? It is really addictive isnt it!

I have joined the gym and have my induction on Sunday or next week and I am going to try and swim seeing as its included in my gym membership. Its strange because I can swim but only even swim on holiday. I only really see it as a holiday activity which is silly I know.

I had my photo shoot Friday was amazing and crazy at the same time. The photographer asked me have you done this before? And I just laughed I said yes but it isnt on my C.V. I couldn’t be a celebrity with all that make up caked on my face all day everyday, even though it was nice to be pampered. I had hair extensions in even though my hair is long, eyelash extensions done, a million hair pins and grips in my hair and 5 bottles of water, as it was so hot in there.

I did 4 looks 2 registry looks, one party look, and a traditional contemporary Asian wedding look. I was pleased with all my photographs and when I get them this week I will up load to show you.

I have also been starting some work on Valentines day cards to sell for the special day. Once I have completed a card I will photograph and up load for you to check out and let me know what you think.

Happy Blogging From Miss Rav Budwal xxx

Wednesday

Hey guys and girls

So aside from the project which is obviously NOT happening, ive decided I am going to work through a  drawing book on figures. In all honesty I am not the best figure drawer, in fact as you will probably notice throughout my work I draw abstractly because I look at texture moreover obvious details.

So perfecting the drape of fabric and creating different textures in a range of medias is what I aim to do. I am starting with taking self drawn images back to their most raw form, e.g pencil and paper, ink and scribe, black fiber tip pen smudged with water.

Check out what ive been up to so far 🙂

Page one Texture 101 – playing with pencil, how you can create shadow effects using different line thickness and good quality pencils.

Page two Fabric 102 – I was trying to show a large body of fabric (in the form of a ball gown) I used a black fibre tip pen, and a thin paintbrush with water on to create form, drape, shape and light on the fabric. Also here you can see how the amount of pressure applied to the pen effects the thin quality and still proved a texture in itself.

Page three Texture in fibre pen 103 – As the pen drawn dress plus water smudging worked out really well, I thought I would demonstrate how effective this technique is. I love the round circles at the bottom, I swear to you I only used a black fibre tip pen and water. The different coloirs you can see in the black from this page and pge two, come about because there are two types of black. And in the two pages I used Two different black fibre tip pens.

Hey guys sorry for the blank…

I haven’t been able to access my account on word press, don’t know why I have been trying for days 😦 but I guess im back on now.

What have I been doing? Working applying unsuccessfully for textiles jobs 😦 tweeting, christmas shopping, trying to organise my work placement with Mungo Gurney which has been postponed untill after new year.

Loving Beyonce’s new song Love on top, and Liz Jones story of designer cows swapping London couture for cows sounds crazy to me but it is an inspirational story.

Guys you can be whatever you want to be, it wont be easy and you have got to have some persistance but if you want it, grab everything with both hands and keep looking!

Lots of love Rav x
