Sunday

Hi just to bullet point in a nut shell my crazy busy life

  • School
  • Lesson planning
  • Trips to the glen
  • Trips to the angel of the north
  • Playing in the snow
  • Entertaining
  • Eating (as always)
  • Gym
  • Applying for jobs
  • And as I write this post watching the snow fall from the dark sky.

As Christmas seem like a far distant snug memory, every time the snow falls I am tricked into thinking it has come around again! School is amazingly fantastic and I am very happy at my new placement school. My classes are lovely and the staff are great! I am teaching textiles, food, resistant materials and G.C.S.E textiles. Everyday is fun and sometime a bit nervy but it is all in the preparation. Although when I made bread rolls on Friday with my year 8’s mine turned out horrible (in all fairness to me i was tending to my class).

So as this snow keeps falling here I am thinking about warm sand in between my toes, water tickling at my ankles and the sun beaming down on my face. Can not wait for summer!!

Imagen being here… : )

Hi guys

WOW I am not sure what the weather has been like in the part of the world where your reading my blog, but here in England it has been snowing like crazy!

So crazy that I have now had two snow days off and fully enjoyed them! (Although I have been geeking it up catching up with work) – the life if a teacher ey!

Have made a snow man called Frank and a condo for him which you can see on Twitter @MissRavBudwal 🙂

Anyway so clearing my drive yesterday the air was crisp, the snow was bright white and the wind chilly and I looked up and just marveled at the beautiful white stuff around me. It makes even the boring est thing look lovey and fun; I am feeling very Christmasy although I shouldn’t be because its aggggggeeesssss away!

So me and my friends Claire and Francis were sending each other lovely snowy pictures from where we live. Claire’s garden looked like someone had dropped a thick snowy blanket on top, whilst Fran, her partner and sweet dog really made me smile.

So i decided to take some snaps on my I phone and show you : ) Enjoy!

Hello and a hearty HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU! : D

Right amongst the new years resolutions I didn’t make here is one I will try my damn hardest to keep…

A blog post once a week to you my readers… If your still there and reading…

And if your not then I guess I will ramble onto myself. The Christmas break saw the end of my first placement in school. Which was very enlightening to say the least. (As I am doing my PGCE in design technology in textiles.)

School is a funny place… One in which memories are made, dreams are aspired to and we learn to interact positively with people. As a teacher you find your self constantly evaluating and re evaluating every situation and every task to ensure you are perfect. But so far it has not been possible to achieve perfection so I have been aiming for very good : ) which is more realistic. So from the weave and uni dairies comes the educational but still creative words and pictures from an aspiring perfectionist Miss Budwal!

Tuesday

Hi, Hiya, Hello, Holla, Hey up : )

Missed You! Apologies my nets been down and the charger on my Mac is broken tough times!!

But back to life in the fast lane with Miss Rav Budwal.

The project… Fantastic, amazing, inspiring, creative and so fun! There is only one week left now, we have paper mached the bodices. Found images relating, created fun and funky texts relating to the topics. This week we continued skill sharing between the generations, so from CAD to knitting and sewing. We have been embellishing the bodices with free machine embroidery, ribbon trims, headbands with words relating to the topic hanging off. The participants have been very creative and I am hoping by the time we get to watching the presentations they have learnt a lot about the topic which they choose to explore. In of  how to avoid / cope with it if it happens in their life. But just as importantly I hope they have learnt lots of new creative skills along the way too!

I have been a bit ill as of late, had a chest infection which I kept passing off as hay fever LOL not good; but you know we all self diagnose! Also had my uncles 50th birthday party to attend; which was super fun all the family were there, the music was loud and the drinks were flowing like crazy!

I don’t know how many of you have been to the cinema lately but I recently watched the Five year engagement, not that great. There were a few laugh out loud moments but it was such a long movie! I was a bit like okay can we fast forward five years hahaha! Magic Mike looks great too but that’s because I am a huge Channing Tatum fan and to see his body half naked.. Hmm (dribble dribble) tehehehehe : )

AND as promised a new artist AJAY MEISURIA

A very good friend of mine graduating tomorrow so all the very best, so proud love you lots!

BUT back to his work his final major project was based around .

He created Limited edition prints which have been explored using song lyrics from Swedish house mafia featuring Tinie tempeh, Miami to Ibiza. The over printing technique was used with a combination of layers to give the prints a layered effect and a process of colour.

There was also a collection he did called THE WASTED DEBATES.

THEY ARE A SERIES OF DEBATES INVITING THE PUBLIC TO EXPLORE & DISCUSS THE ISSUES AROUND THE FUTURE OF HEALTH, MEDICINE, ART & ETHICS IN RELATION TO OUR BODIES.

STEMMING FROM THE WASTED ART WORKS –

AN EXHIBITION OF SCULPTURES THAT INVITED LIVING DONORS TO CONTRIBUTE THEIR OWN

‘WASTED ’ BODY PARTS THE DEBATES WILL ADDRESS ISSUES RELEVANT TO US ALL,

SUCH AS COSMETICS,OWNERSHIP, STEM CELLRESEARCH, DISABILITY & THE FUTURE OF THE BODY.

Ajay’s self directed project was based upon the London 2012 Olympic games

He produced a series of t-shirts to represent the London 2012 Olympic games have a peek : )

The Olympic t shirts series are my favourite collection, his use of colour is very bold against the back drop if negative space. His thoughtfulness to the game chosen and the emblems / selection of colour is truly very inspiring.

Hope you liked his work as much as I do!

Tuesday

Yesterday was a fabulous day so out into the sunshine we went, me and Sab went to a lovely park in Bingley Myrtle Park and we sat by the tranquil river, saw cows across the hills and even a herring which is currently nesting on the island in between both sides of the river!
