Hi, Hiya, Hello, Holla, Hey up : )
Missed You! Apologies my nets been down and the charger on my Mac is broken tough times!!
But back to life in the fast lane with Miss Rav Budwal.
The project… Fantastic, amazing, inspiring, creative and so fun! There is only one week left now, we have paper mached the bodices. Found images relating, created fun and funky texts relating to the topics. This week we continued skill sharing between the generations, so from CAD to knitting and sewing. We have been embellishing the bodices with free machine embroidery, ribbon trims, headbands with words relating to the topic hanging off. The participants have been very creative and I am hoping by the time we get to watching the presentations they have learnt a lot about the topic which they choose to explore. In of how to avoid / cope with it if it happens in their life. But just as importantly I hope they have learnt lots of new creative skills along the way too!
I have been a bit ill as of late, had a chest infection which I kept passing off as hay fever LOL not good; but you know we all self diagnose! Also had my uncles 50th birthday party to attend; which was super fun all the family were there, the music was loud and the drinks were flowing like crazy!
I don’t know how many of you have been to the cinema lately but I recently watched the Five year engagement, not that great. There were a few laugh out loud moments but it was such a long movie! I was a bit like okay can we fast forward five years hahaha! Magic Mike looks great too but that’s because I am a huge Channing Tatum fan and to see his body half naked.. Hmm (dribble dribble) tehehehehe : )
AND as promised a new artist AJAY MEISURIA
A very good friend of mine graduating tomorrow so all the very best, so proud love you lots!
BUT back to his work his final major project was based around .
He created Limited edition prints which have been explored using song lyrics from Swedish house mafia featuring Tinie tempeh, Miami to Ibiza. The over printing technique was used with a combination of layers to give the prints a layered effect and a process of colour.
There was also a collection he did called THE WASTED DEBATES.
THEY ARE A SERIES OF DEBATES INVITING THE PUBLIC TO EXPLORE & DISCUSS THE ISSUES AROUND THE FUTURE OF HEALTH, MEDICINE, ART & ETHICS IN RELATION TO OUR BODIES.
STEMMING FROM THE WASTED ART WORKS –
AN EXHIBITION OF SCULPTURES THAT INVITED LIVING DONORS TO CONTRIBUTE THEIR OWN
‘WASTED ’ BODY PARTS THE DEBATES WILL ADDRESS ISSUES RELEVANT TO US ALL,
SUCH AS COSMETICS,OWNERSHIP, STEM CELLRESEARCH, DISABILITY & THE FUTURE OF THE BODY.
Ajay’s self directed project was based upon the London 2012 Olympic games
He produced a series of t-shirts to represent the London 2012 Olympic games have a peek : )
The Olympic t shirts series are my favourite collection, his use of colour is very bold against the back drop if negative space. His thoughtfulness to the game chosen and the emblems / selection of colour is truly very inspiring.
Hope you liked his work as much as I do!
